Then,
there was the onset of the COVID19 quarantine. Ugh 😕 But,
like many, you may have experienced a creative re-birth. Or, maybe your closets
and living spaces are super clean and organized right now! For others the
isolation revealed a higher level of anxiety and sadness to your world. So many
mixed feelings and uncertainties were thrown on all of us. I’m hoping each of
you had some degree of enlightenment or positive change during this time and
you continue to find ways to persevere.
This
brings me to what I discovered. I stumbled upon an online writing group that
was promoting a summer writing contest for short fiction stories. The writing
prompt needed to be on the subject of isolation told in
a maximum of 1500 words. I’m guessing with our recent world situation, the
topic was probably a deliberate choice.![]() |

Anyway,
this may have been the writing inspiration I was waiting for.
So, after a month of workshopping within this writing group, I have submitted my short fiction story titled: The Window.

Along with my story,
there are hundreds of other stories being submitted and judged at The Write Practice. In addition, they will also be naming a Reader’s Choice award
for the story with the most votes. This is where you, the readers, can vote on
your favorite story and support the writers that devote many hours to their
craft.
Below, please find
the link to my story and
the link to vote. Naturally, I hope you find my story worthy of your vote. Please note that the voting option ends on June 21, 2020.
Also, in recognition to support other writers in their efforts to be seen, I've included a link to Short Fiction Break where
you may select from any of the story submissions and take a little break in
your day by reading other short stories.
Thank you for
supporting me and other writers that are hoping to share their imagination and to entertain you, the reader!
I hope you love The Window as it guides you
through a short tale of isolating suspense and subsequently ending with a
surprising reveal.
