September's Picture The Possibilities

September, what a month for song! Did you know that September is the one month out of the year that is used the most in song titles and lyrics? September seems to hold the record for inspirational song writing with April not far behind.

The inspiration for “September” could come from many instances.

Change of Season:
With the end of summer it can bring about new and fresh beginnings for fall. September may stimulate new ideas or inspire life changes. For instance, it’s during this time one may be transitioning from high school to college. Maybe it's the end of a seasonal job or transitioning into fall with a new look. Invigorating and exciting.

New Love or Ending Love:
A summer romance could mark the beginning of a new love with September being the peak of the romance. Or, it could mark the end of a summer romance. Both have an emotional spirit of highs and lows to send the heart whirling.

Change in Weather:
Along with the change of seasons, is the change of weather that can create a September mood of melancholy. A springboard to a state of mind and a feeling.

Below is just a short list of some of the most popular songs referencing September.  Also, check out this link to The Cavan Project website for an awesome collection of videos of some of these songs and a few others.

1. See You in September, The Happenings

September is used to symbolize so many experiences of change. Whether it's in the seasons, love, loss or state of mind. Like a caterpillar's once existence, it will soon change to a beautiful butterfly. Sometimes we must accept and roll with the changes that life gives us. How else can we grow, learn about ourselves and attempt a new way of being.

This September could be your song waiting to be written.
