Pumpkin Smoothie With Apple & Banana

Have you had enough pumpkin yet? Well, of course not, we're just getting started!

Happy October smoothie lovers! If you're not a smoothie lover, but a pumpkin lover - how about you give this smoothie a try just once. 

It's like having a healthier thick and creamy pumpkin pie in a glass. You can blend in a regular blender or NutriBullet. If you like less of this and more of that, then tweak it the way you want to get the flavor you want.


In your blender or NutriBullet put in -
  • handful of kale or spinach 
  • 1/2 frozen banana (cut in 3 pieces)
  • 1 small apple cut in chunks with or without peel 
  • 3/4 cup canned 100% pure pumpkin (I like it chilled first)
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (adjust as needed - depends on how thick you want it).  Substitute lowfat milk if you'd like.
I don't add any extra sweetener to mine, but feel free to add a little honey or Stevia if you desire.

Whirl-it-up and pour in your fave glass, sprinkle with chopped pecans and cinnamon. 

If you can't get past the tinge of green color, use less kale/spinach. You like more pumpkin flavor, then add more canned pumpkin.  Adjust the way you like it. 

If you don't like it at all...well that's o.k., it may not be your thang!

I'll work on a Christmas smoothie idea next and see what we come up with.
