June's Picture The Possibilities

It can be very productive to daydream. They say if you imagine it and see what you want in your head, you'll do it. See yourself traveling to a destination. See yourself eating and being healthier. See yourself in a new car. See yourself in a different career. If you imagine wanting or having it, then it will most likely happen. 


The ability to focus and engage in positive thinking can actually overcome obstacles that you may encounter. Get What You Want - Imagine It and Make It Happen is an article that has some great examples. 

In my experience "the want" has to be strong and the focus deliberate. Visualizing what you want gets in your head and soon your vision is just the first step to taking the next and the next. Before you know it, what you've imagined becomes a reality. Staying positive is key to getting over the obstacles. 

Unfortunately, many of us will let in negative self-talk. So, you've crushed your dream before it even had a chance to go somewhere. Practice positive affirmation and act as if you're already a winnerHere's a link to 5 techniques to changing your mindset. 

I'm reminded of Stuart Smalley the funny character created by Al Franken in a Saturday Night Live sketch.  Stuart Smalley does his Daily Affirmation by never forgetting to say "I'm good enough. I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!"  It's kind of a funny approach suggesting that we should all practice a few ‘Stuart Smalley Affirmations.’ 





Daydreaming is not a waste of time and should not be discouraged. The health benefits are explained in this article Daydreaming can be a benefit to your life Daydreaming sparks creativity, it’s a mood relaxer and it’s effective in sorting out healthy emotions. 

How about you try visualizing the waterfall as ideas pouring into your thoughts. In time, with focus and positive thinking those thoughts can present themselves into reality. This is when it happens…it appears. It’s your "Rainbow!”

    1. Lizzi, sounds like you need to take some affirmation tips from Stuart Smalley. Lol Hope you can practice some of the techniques (link above) and change that mindset. Thank you for taking the time to stop by! :)

    1. Thank you Leanne! I think when you sit by a waterfall, the sound of the crashing water sort of transcends a person to daydream. That was my inspiration anyway.
