Holy Guacamole! What I Learned About U.S. Presidents?

Could you imagine President Abraham Lincoln serving up a slow comfortable screw, sex on the beach or a Bloody Mary at a local Illinois saloon?

Did you know President Warren Harding repeatedly made love to a young girl in a White House closet?

And, curiously, President Herbert Hoover gave strict orders to his servants to hide whenever he passed by.

For Real!

In recognition of Presidents' Day coming up on February 15th, I thought it'd be fun to share this link to 99 Interesting Facts about U.S. Presidents

To get you started. Can you name the six presidents that were named James?

What president had a buzzer system installed in the Oval Office that the Secret Service would ring to warn when his wife was coming?

Who had a family of plants named after him?

If you're feeling unsettled with our upcoming presidential nominees and election, you may be surprised by these interesting, strange and unusual facts about our previous United States Presidents.

I'm thinking, I'll vote for the one that makes the best Bloody Mary!

So, after reading the list of facts, what do you think?  Are you surprised by any?

This is another featured installment of Holy Guacamole, Is That For Real?"

Until next month's edition, expect the unexpected!

  1. It does seem a bit sad that election decisions might be based on beverage-making agility. At the same time, anyone who is adroit at Bloody Mary concoctions is certainly worthy of consideration... ;)

    1. It would be foolish to decide an election based on the best Bloody Mary mix, but it wouldn't be the first strangest campaign strategy. http://www.npr.org/sections/npr-history-dept/2015/08/04/428989753/the-strangest-presidential-campaign-ever

So, like you, I think it wouldn't hurt to consider. Thanks for commenting Brian.

  3. A buzzer to alert him his wife was near? Really LBJ!! Philandering seems to be a problem through the years with the presidential office.

    1. Not too surprising. It seems the role of power can bring out naughty behaviors.
