Not only are there many ideas you can put between two slices of bread, but there's so many types of bread to be used, as well. For this sandwich, I used Cinnamon Raisin bread.
This is a great idea for a breakfast sandwich. However, no rule against having it for lunch.
For one sandwich, here's the simple ingredients.
- 2 slices of cinnamon raisin bread
- Ripened pear cut into thin slices. You can substitute thin slices of apple if you'd rather
- 1 slice Havarti cheese or Swiss cheese
- Sprinkling of cinnamon
- Cooking Spray
Put the pear slices and and cheese on slice of bread - just like if you were making a grilled cheese sandwich. I sprinkle a little cinnamon over the pear slices, top with other slice of cinnamon raisin bread.
I spray a small skillet with some coconut oil cooking spray and then toast each side of my sandwich over medium heat. If you want to butter the outside of each slice of bread before putting in the heated skillet, you can certainly do that.
Also, I place a cover over my skillet to keep the heat in and melt that cheese to a gooey consistency.
Delicious for breakfast or really anytime!
